5 Things Friday
April is National Poetry Month. I decided that I’m going to try to write a poem a day. I will not be sharing them here. I do not generally consider myself to be a poet. I do not think my poems are necessarily any good, but this is another attempt at tapping into my creative side.
I listened to two audiobooks. Life in 5 Senses by Gretchen Rubin was a nice one to listen to in my neighborhood walks where I maybe couldn’t focus on my sense of hearing, with that sense focused on the audiobook, but I could appreciate sights of flowers and interesting outdoor decorations. And I could take in the smells of those previously mentioned flowers. It’s a nice, light book. I also listened to the end of it while on my spring break road trip and that’s a different kind of sensory experience driving along the coast. After that book, I listened to How We Fight for Our Lives by Saeed Jones. I love his podcast Vibe Check and he has a pleasant voice, so when it was time to select my next audiobook I chose his memoir. I can see why it has won awards. He narrates it well and being a poet added to the beautiful telling of his story.
I am still having a heck of a time getting into fiction, so nothing to report there.
I wasn’t sure about The Morning Show on Apple TV with the first episode, but after a few more episodes, I’m kind of loving it. Billy Crudup is so good on this show.
I used to do this newsletter blog every week. Lately it’s been every other week. I think maybe that this would make more sense as a monthly newsletter blog. I don’t know. Every now and then I feel like I need to reevaluate things in my life. Continue what’s working and change what’s not. I feel like this newsletter blog is one of the things not really working for me right now. So, it may continue in it’s current form or go monthly or I’ll just quit it entirely. I’m not sure.
